Many people understand that flu shots aren’t effective. What is less known is vaccinating against one strain of influenza can actually increase the risk of exposure to different strains.

Research in theJournal of Virologyfound that the seasonal flu vaccine can weaken a child’s immune system and increase their chances of caching influenza viruses not included in the vaccine.

A study published inScience Translational Medicinefound a surprising complication of the vaccine design. It was found to increase the risk of contracting the flu – after vaccination.
