Why herbicides need more water and Minerals

sprayingEmeritus professor Don Huber demonstrates crop failure under herbicide tolerant crops due to reductions in metabolic function.  By reducing nutrient availability herbicide tolerant crops are weaker than conventionally grown, requiring twice as much water and more minerals due to reduced efficiency.   This means they are less drought tolerant and susceptible to more diseases than conventional grown crops.  This means more risk to the farmer through higher production costs.  Seed companies seldom take any responsibility for crop failure.  Length 6 minutes
